LicenseShield Alternative
Same MT4/MT5 licensing job. Several times the capacity per dollar, and no meter on your success.
LicenseShield (barmenteros FX) is a solid, established option for MetaTrader-only licensing — this page is a factual, sourced comparison for anyone evaluating it against LicenseFort, not a takedown.

Where the two products actually differ
You don't get billed for your own success
LicenseShield meters daily verifications per plan — 10/day on Free up to 4,000/day on Business. Every customer who opens their EA burns quota. LicenseFort never meters checks, on any plan: you pay for active licenses, not for how often your customers run their own software.
Trials aren't a paywall
LicenseShield's trial length is gated by plan — 7 fixed days on Free, up to 90 days only at $149/mo. LicenseFort's trial length is a per-product setting you control, up to 365 days, identical on every plan including Free.
Straightforward billing for your own subscription
Pay LicenseFort by card, PayPal, or regional methods through Paddle — our merchant of record, handling tax and compliance for you — or by crypto via NowPayments. (Selling to your own customers still runs through your own payment processor; LicenseFort licenses the software, it doesn't yet handle your downstream checkout — same as LicenseShield.)
Beyond MetaTrader
LicenseShield is MT4/MT5 only. LicenseFort protects MT4/MT5 Expert Advisors and indicators the same way, plus Windows .exe applications, Python, .NET, Go, WordPress plugins, and Chrome extensions — one dashboard if your product line ever grows past MetaTrader.

We know trust is the real objection
barmenteros has run LicenseShield since 2011 — that track record is real, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we can offer instead: a documented offline-grace window so your customers' software keeps running through any outage, a live health check you can hit yourself right now, and a public commitment to what happens to your licenses if LicenseFort ever shuts down — details most licensing vendors, including LicenseShield, don't publish.

We'll do the assisted integration work free (normally $299) for anyone moving an existing product over — concierge onboarding, no charge for the switch itself.
