The window
You can request a refund on a first-time subscription within 14 days of your initial purchase. This matches the window shown at checkout — if you ever see a different number quoted somewhere else on the site, this page is the source of truth.
What qualifies
- A first-time subscription purchase, refund requested within the 14-day window.
- A duplicate charge for the same period.
- A genuine billing error on our side.
- A documented service failure that prevented you from using the Service during the window (get in touch and describe what happened — we'll look at the actual logs, not just take the report at face value).
What doesn't qualify
- Renewals after your first billing term — cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period; a renewal that's already gone through isn't itself refundable.
- Partial months when you cancel mid-cycle — you keep access for the period already paid for; see §Cancellation below.
- Overage charges already incurred.
- Scale/custom plans, which are covered by their own separate agreement.
- Accounts terminated for breaching the Acceptable Use terms (Terms §10).
- Refund requests where more than 5 Licence Keys have been created on the account during the period covered by the request. This applies to keys created, not just currently-active ones — revoking a key after using it doesn't undo the fact that the Service was used. The 14-day window is for trying LicenseFort out, not for a full month of production use followed by a refund request.
How to request one
Email support@licensefort.com with your account email and the reason for the request. Include your order/transaction reference if you have it — it speeds things up but isn't required.
Processing time
Requests are reviewed within 3 business days. Approved refunds are issued within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.
Cancellation is separate from a refund
You can cancel a subscription at any time from the dashboard billing page. Cancelling stops future renewals — it doesn't retroactively refund the current period, and it's independent of whether a refund request also qualifies under this policy. After cancellation, your existing Licence Keys and Activations keep validating for the wind-down period described in the Terms, §8 (at least 30 days) before new-key creation stops for good.
Crypto payments — read this before paying with crypto
Payments made via NowPayments (crypto) are non-reversible once confirmed on-chain — there is no equivalent of a card chargeback. If a crypto payment qualifies for a refund under this policy:
- The refund is issued in [[REFUND_CURRENCY_METHOD (e.g. the original cryptocurrency, or a fiat/stablecoin equivalent)]].
- Exchange-rate movement between the original payment and the refund is borne by [[EXCHANGE_RATE_RISK_PARTY]] — crypto prices move, and this needs a definite answer rather than being discovered during an actual dispute.
- Network/miner fees incurred in sending the refund are deducted from the refunded amount.
Paddle as merchant of record
For card payments, Paddle is the merchant of record and processes the refund on our instruction. You can also raise a refund request directly with Paddle if that's easier for you — they'll coordinate with us either way.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory right you have that can't lawfully be excluded — including, where applicable, a consumer's right of withdrawal under EU/UK distance-selling law, subject to the usual digital-content exception where you've expressly consented to immediate access and acknowledged that doing so ends the withdrawal right.
